We believe that the Bible is God's Word. Our teaching and preaching are based on the Bible. The Bible didn't just fall from heaven in leather-bound English. It was written over centuries by multiple authors to a variety of audiences. So we study the Bible carefully, striving to understand the text in its original context so that we can apply it to our lives today. We also read scripture, especially the Old Testament, through the life and teaching of Jesus, the Word made Flesh (John 1:14; Hebrews 1:1-4). It is our studying and application of the Bible's central command to love one another that compels us to be a fully welcoming church to LGBTQ+ members.
We are committed to embracing people of all ages, colors, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, marital status, political leanings, ethnic origins, immigration status and economic circumstances. Jesus welcomed everyone he encountered, from the outcast lepers to the privileged Roman officials. Jesus taught that his disciples would be identified by their love (John 13:34-35). MCCC is a welcoming, affirming congregation because we believe that is what Jesus calls us to do. God created us as diverse people and we celebrate that diversity and hope that our church community grows in diversity as we welcome all who enter our congregation. What does inclusive mean? Why is MCCC an inclusive congregation?
We are real people with real issues, relying on faith and the faith community to navigate the ups and downs of life. We don't have everything figured out and our lives aren't perfect. We are on a journey with each other as we strive to follow Jesus, individually and as a community. We invite you to join us regardless of where you are in your faith journey. You can come to MCCC with more questions than answers. You will find a community of people, like you, who need a place to be real and figure out how faith impacts our daily lives.
From day one, MCCC has been committed to serving our community. This means reaching out to the homeless, opening our facility and property to programs and events that serve the broader Mill Creek community. We are also involved in ministries that help children in India and Thailand. Every year our pastor leads a group to visit several children's homes where we partner with local pastors and churches to break the cycle of poverty through education, housing, and medical care.
God wants a real relationship with each one of us. He communicates through his Word, through song, prayer, mediation, the arts, and creation itself. Worship and prayer are central to our church's ministry. We strive to have creative worship services that incorporate a variety of elements, hoping that each part of the service will focus our attention on Jesus and his will for each one of us. Prayer and worship are incorporated into everything we do not just when we meet, but in our daily lives.

Mill Creek Community Church has roots in the Reformed Tradition, but as a community church we recognize and appreciate a variety of theological perspectives. MCCC is a safe place to ask questions and seek answers together. We value the creeds and confessions of the Reformed tradition as useful documents that help us dialogue about our faith. These documents do not have biblical authority but do offer insight into how the church has historically applied the Bible to everyday life.
